State ID Program

The Maryland State ID Card Program is administered by the Security Card Processing Center (SCPC) which is a division of the Maryland Capitol Police. The SCPC is responsible for issuing State ID cards to all state employees, contractors, lobbyist and local government officials. The SCPC is also responsible for providing proxy access to the state buildings that are under DGS control.


State ID Application Request

To begin the process of obtaining a State ID with (MCP) Maryland Capitol Police, Security Card Processing Center, please contact the authorized ID coordinator for your agency.  This is imperative to ensure a smooth process. All state ID application request forms must be submitted electronically by the authorized ID coordinator

Tuesday and Thursday (By Appointment Only*)
8 a.m. -12 p.m.​

If you would like to schedule an appointment to obtain a state ID on Tuesday or Thursday, please send an email request to dgs.scpc@maryland.gov. Once your appointment is scheduled, a confirmation via email will be sent from our office staff.
