The Maryland State ID Card Program, overseen by the Security Card Processing Center (SCPC), operates under the Maryland Capitol Police. The SCPC handles the issuance of State ID cards to a wide range of individuals, including:

• Lobbyists
• Local government officials

Additionally, SCPC manages proxy access for state buildings under the jurisdiction of the Department of General Services (DGS), ensuring secure entry and control.
 

State ID Application Request

To start the process of obtaining a State ID through the Maryland Capitol Police (MCP) Security Card Processing Center (SCPC), it is essential to follow these steps:

1. Contact Your Agency's Authorized ID Coordinator
Reach out to the designated ID coordinator for your agency to initiate the process. This step is crucial for ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

2. Electronic Submission of Application Forms
All State ID application request forms must be submitted electronically by the authorized ID coordinator. Individual submissions are not accepted.

This procedure ensures compliance with SCPC guidelines and facilitates a smooth issuance process.

Hours of Operation

The Maryland Capitol Police (MCP) Security Card Processing Center (SCPC) operates with the following schedule for State ID services:

• Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Open to the public from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday: By appointment only from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To schedule an appointment on Tuesday or Thursday, follow these steps:
1. Send an email request to dgs.scpc@maryland.gov.
2. Await a confirmation email from SCPC staff with your appointment details.
